The Commercial Contracts & Legal Department (CC&L) undertakes a number of roles:

• We offer advice and guidance to members on matters that affect the way either their business is run or by the means that they may conduct business.
• We are the guardian of the ECA Warranty (176KB pdf) and ECA Bond Scheme (192KB pdf), the Code of Fair Trading (376KB pdf) and the ECA Guarantee of Work Scheme. We make presentations at branch or regional meetings on a wide range of subjects e.g. adjudication or sustainability or any other commercial or contractual subject requested by members.
• We represent ECA on the Specialist Engineering Contractors (SEC) Group.
• We represent members' interests during the development of UK Legislation (48KB pdf) and European Legislation (224KB pdf).

 Summary

The department is happy to suggest ways in which a deteriorating situation may be turned around. However, the department prefers to advise members before the circumstances are allowed to deteriorate and the pro-active advice contained within this website's resources are geared to that end.
