ECS Health and Safety Assessments
The ECS Health and Safety Assessment - The certificate you need to apply for an ECS card
Industry operatives who wish to apply for an ECS card, and who do not hold an approved national health and safety qualification, must sit and pass the ECS Health and Safety Assessment. The holder is then issued with an ECS Certificate, which is a required document that must accompany their ECScard application. Having a recognised Health & Safety qualification on site became a mandatory requirement in 2003.
Those who hold any of the approved Health & Safety qualifications listed on the ECScard website are exempt from taking the assessment.
Each attempt at either a full assessment or Site Visitor Assessment will cost £35.00 per candidate (VAT included)
Certificate expiry
The Health & Safety Assessment Certificate is valid for two years, and an ECS card must be applied for within that time. Thereafter, the ECS card is valid for 3 years. A subsequent Health & Safety Assessment will need to be taken in order to renew the card at the end of this 3 year period.
