ECA NVQ Scheme
NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Services (Installation - Buildings and Structures)
The ECA NVQ scheme has been designed specifically to enable electricians to obtain formal recognition of their experience.
Those joining the scheme are required to possess recognised theory qualifications and must be working in the industry, so that they are able to demonstrate their practical competence.
On successful completion of the scheme, the candidate will have achieved the industry-recognised qualification: NVQ Level 3 - Electrotechnical Services (Installation - Buildings and Structures). Achieving the qualification enables the candidate to apply for an ECS Gold Card, endorsing their status as a qualified electrician.
About the scheme
The scheme has been designed so that there is no time off work for assessment, it can be undertaken anywhere in England or Wales, and its flexibility means it can be tailored to suit both the candidate and their employer.
The candidate is required to demonstrate practical competence to an assessor across a range of tasks. This can be demostrated during normal working practices and might include reports, photographs, interviews and references from employers and clients as evidence of the their ability to meet the required standards.
A portfolio of evidence will be built online via a secure website. Candidates will receive support from an experienced and fully qualified assessor throughout the duration of the scheme.
