Technical Audit
- review and overview
These are the days of accountability. Sometimes what's needed is an outside view, not only of an electrical installation, but of all the processes and paperwork generated before, during and after the project is completed.
It can be early in a project, to help in procurement, or it may be to evaluate the post-commissioning performance and systems, maintenance routines or staff competence. It may be the foundation of a planned upgrade. It may be to establish due diligence or compliance with standards. It may involve gap analysis or value consistency across contractors.
A technical audit by the ECA provides an authoritive, detailed scrutiny of every area of a project, set out in a comprehensive report which is universally accepted in any accountability context.
Installation Inspection
- checking it out on site
There's one question that applies to every electrical installation in the UK: does it comply with the relevant applicable standards?
The answer to that question can settle legal disputes, provide quality reassurance, pinpoint liability for any accident or incident, identify some specific issue in the way an installation functions (or malfunctions).
Only, however, if it's independent, professional, authoritative and trusted. An installation inspection report from the ECA is all those things and can be used with confidence in any dispute. The ECA is recognised by the UK Register of Expert Witnesses, the largest and most established directory of vetted experts in the UK.
All inspection work is carried out by one of a team of experienced electrical engineers employed by the ECA's UKAS accredited inspection body. Findings are comprehensively detailed in a written report.
Technical 'Health Check'
- a second opinion
"Are we doing this right?"
"Could we be doing something better?"
Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees. That's when a second opinion builds confidence or helps to avoid pitfalls. An ECA Technical Health Check makes sure the technical aspects of your business are on the right track - and stay that way.
A Technical Health Check gives you the opportunity to ask questions on an informal basis to someone who is only there to help. It is driven by your needs to give you the detailed advice you want.
It may take a few hours or a couple of days. It may identify - and offer - some one-on-one training. It may be a check that the job complies with standards, or preparation for a dry run before an assessment.
An ECA Technical Health Check needn't cost much - and may save a lot of money down the line.
