The ECA employs over 140 staff across the UK and Northern Ireland. They are headed by the ECA President who is appointed by ECA Council made up of key industry representatives, and the Group Chief Executive Officer, who is based in the London headquarters at ESCA House.
Steve Bratt, ECA Group Chief Executive Officer
Steve was appointed ECA Group Chief Executive Officer in October 2010, having previously served as Deputy CEO from February 2010. Steve joined the ECA as Chief Operating Officer in 2007 from Magna Housing Group where he was Group Business Development Director and MD of Charter Ltd and Affordable Homes UK. Steve’s career consists of senior positions, both executive and non-executive, centred around the building services and construction sectors including a number of non-executive chairman’s roles within property development companies.
Prior to his time with Magna, he was Group Commercial Director with CORGI, where he was recognised by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) as one of Britain’s top 200 businessmen in 2002 and 2003. Steve is a Chartered Director and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors. He is also Managing Director of ECA Certification Ltd.

Alun Pearson, ECA President 2011-12
Cardiff born and raised, Alun has spent his working career in the city and having joined the Presidential team in April 2009, is the second welsh President of the ECA.
Starting out as an apprentice for a small electrical contracting firm, Alun then founded his own company in 1988, A Pearson Electrical Contractors, which he continues to run with his wife Jane.
2011 caps 13 years of involvement since Alun joined as a member of the ECA in 1998. In this time, he has served with distinction as Chair of the Cardiff & Newport Branch between 2004 and 2006 and again in 2009, and as Chair of the South Wales Regional Executive Committee between 2005 and 2007.
