Death & Disability Benefit

Participation in the JIB Combined Benefits Credit Scheme provides employees with cover for death and disability, in accordance with JIB rules.  

  • Death Benefit Cover

    Standard death benefit of £17,000 from any cause.

  • Accidental Death Benefit Cover

    In the event of death occurring as a result of an accident at work an extra £50,000 is paid, in addition to the standard death benefit of £17,000. This could increase the total benefit to £67,000. Any accidental death when travelling to and from work will attract an additional £12,500 to the standard death benefit of £17,000.

  • Permanent and Total Disability

    If, due to injury or disease, an employee loses a limb or total use of a limb or sustains permanent and total loss of vision then a benefit of £15,000 will be paid.

    If, due to injury or disease, an employee is no longer able to work in his/her JIB Grade  then a  discretionary payment of up to £15,000 will be assessed.

    Any payment of permanent and total disability benefit will be made in lieu of any other benefit from the group life plan.
