  • Environment Agency (EA)

    The EA is the leading environmental regulator for England and Wales (Scotland has its own regulator). The EA's website contains extensive information on environmental legislation and guidance.

  • Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA)

    IEMA is the UK's leading professional body covering environmental management and assessment. It is the UK competent body for EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) and covers areas including professional development, best practise and networking.

  • Netregs

    This government-sponsored site outlines key environmental legislation and good practice. The site aims to help businesses to understand (often complicated) environmental regulations. It is particularly useful for small businesses.

  • The Carbon Trust

    The Carbon Trust is a government-sponsored source of advice and information, most of it free, on energy efficiency techniques and technology. The Carbon Trust helps business to cut carbon dioxide emissions and capture the commercial potential of low-carbon technologies.

  • Energy Saving Trust

    The Energy Saving Trust offers impartial advice and information, plus grants to encourage the efficient use of energy in homes and vehicles across the UK. The Trust offers programmes to help organisations such as: businesses/workplaces, fleet managers, housing associations, local authorities, and schools/education facilities.

  • NISP – National Industrial Symbiosis Programme

    Industrial symbiosis brings together companies from all businesses in the construction sector with the aim of improving cross industry resource efficiency through the commercial trading of materials, energy and water and sharing assets, logistics and expertise. This benefits businesses through greater bottom line savings and profitability.
