Increases in Statutory Minimum Wage rates

Following the introduction of the National Living wage last April, the Government has announced the following increases in the both, the National Living and National Minimum wage rates with effect from April 2017:

 

Current Hourly Rate

New Hourly Rates  effective 1 April 17

Workers aged 25 and over (the national living wage)

£7.20

£7.50

Workers aged 21 to 24 inclusive

£6.95

£7.05

Workers aged 18 to 20 inclusive

£5.55

£5.60

Workers aged under 18 who are no longer of compulsory school age

£4.00

£4.05

Apprentices aged under 19, or aged 19 and over but in the first year of his or her apprenticeship

£3.40

£3.50
