Structured Data Cabling - A Summary

Structured data cabling systems are considered a critical infrastructure and invisible utility which serves a wide range of uses allowing technology to communicate and transmit data through a computer network.

Technological developments have already led to a greater involvement of IT software with system providers driving the uptake of Internet Protocol (IP) connected devices such as the Internet of Things (IoT) emerging DC distribution, the advancements of Power over Ethernet (PoE) and Wifi. This has led to an array of applications being connected over structured copper and fibre cable systems and reflects the need for a properly designed and installed structured cabling system which provides an end-to-end infrastructure that delivers predictable performance has the flexibility to accommodate alterations and change as well as future proving its usability as technologies change.

These reflect the need of reliably designed and installed end-to-end structured cabling solutions and for the systems to become a strategic business asset.
