According to a recent study, 92% of employers who take on apprentices agree that they have contributed to a more motivated and satisfied workforce, while 83% confirm that they now rely on apprenticeship programmes to provide skilled workers for the future.

Apprenticeships can bring endless opportunities, not only to young talented individuals who are looking to embark on their careers in the electrical sector and earn while they learn but also to businesses who are looking to bring fresh skills and ideas into the industry as well as staying competitive in the market.

However, within the electrical sector, many young individuals are unable to complete their apprenticeships and progress further due to difficult personal circumstances. Early intervention and a solid support network can have a huge impact on young individuals who are struggling to reach their goals.

The Electrical Industries Charity (EIC) launched the Apprentice Support Programme (ASP) to help young talented individuals within the electrical sector overcome the obstacles that are standing in the way of achieving success in their chosen careers and is calling on the industry to show their support.

Through ASP, which is part of the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), the Charity can offer young people the support they need to continue to pursue success and create the prosperous careers they deserve. Support services include financial grants and assistance, telephone and face to face counselling, electrical engineering scholarships, an apprentice bursary scheme, career development and transition and practical support for apprentices and their loved ones.

Supporting the industry through education is a key focus for EIC and thanks to ASP, and supporters like you who donate to powerLottery every month, EIC is able to give hope for the future and allow young apprentices within the sector to create bright and promising futures for themselves.

If you would like to help support talented individuals to build rewarding careers and become the leaders of tomorrow while being in with a chance of winning big cash prizes of up to £10,000, download the EIC powerLottery app today and tap the app to play.
