On 1 January 2019, the 18th Edition of the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) came into full effect, applying to all new and rewired installations designed after that date.

The publication underwent its first full round of changes since 2008, ranging from simple rewordings to entirely new additions, with ECA playing a central role. It was published in July 2018, allowing the industry six months to get to grips with the changes.

To help designers and installers to home in on the most important changes in the 18th Edition, ECA launched #Project18, a series of half-day events and multimedia resources designed to make the transition for members to the 18th Edition as easy as possible.
