The construction industry is positioned to play a big part in the smart technology revolution, with electrotechnical business professionals at the forefront of many new commercial opportunities. It’s also something that this year’s Building Tech Live exhibitors, speakers and experts can help delegates with.
As part of UK Construction Week, Building Tech Live takes place at Birmingham’s NEC between 9 to 11 October. Smart solution exhibitors will come together including: KORE, talking about their IoT and M2M connectivity management platform; Okappy demoing their job management network; and Aurora Lighting with their IoT lighting system creating “Value Beyond Illumination”.
The ECA and Voltimum Pavilion will host exhibitors including Eaton, ECA, Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS), Nexans, simPro Software and Voltimum.
For the very first time, ECA will trial a Virtual Reality experience at the ECA stand, BT165. Attendees can expect a glimpse of the potential applications of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in the electrotechnical and engineering services sector.
Key figures from ECA will present talks across the three days, including:
- Government, industry, economics and digital – a transformational trajectory, with Rob Driscoll, Deputy Director of Business Policy and Practice
- What you need to know about the 18th Edition, with Gary Parker, Senior Technical Support Engineer
- The smart home for the electrician, with Darren Smith, Digital Building Solutions Advisor
Rob Driscoll is also nominated as a UK Construction Week 2018 Role Model. The Role Models campaign aims to raise the profile of industry professionals who have gone above and beyond the requirements of their role, or faced considerable adversity in reaching their career goals.
