Over recent years, extensive policy and legislation has been developed by the European Commission, approved by the European Parliament and implemented by the UK Government.
The ECA is directly involved with advocacy in Europe, particularly on technical regulations and standards.
Despite the UK having recently voted to leave the European Union, the legal situation today is still the same as the legal situation before the referendum. We are still in the EU, and we will be for some time.
Moving forward, we will continue to work with the government, our colleagues in the European Association of Electrical Contractors (AIE), and the building engineering services sector to monitor and influence legislative changes and proposals as necessary.
