As greater powers are devolved from Westminster, the ECA is engaging with the Welsh Government, civil servants, and Assembly Members to ensure that the best interests of electrical and other building services contractors in Wales are recognised.

The Building Regulations, which contain the rules to make new and altered buildings safe and reduce environmental impact, were devolved to Wales at the end of 2011. The ECA has been active in working with the Welsh Government, both before and after the powers were devolved, to positively influence the regulations.

In addition, the ECA continues to work with Welsh politicians and SEC Group on issues including pre-qualification, prompt payment and retentions.
