South West

Welcome

This Region stretches from mid-Somerset to the Scilly Isles, taking in the counties of Devon & Cornwall, also a portion of Somerset.  A high proportion of the membership in the South West Region engage fully in the ECA local activities on offer and operate through two local Branch ‘groups’, these being Plymouth & Cornwall Branches - also Exeter & Torbay and Taunton Branches - which also work together in a similar fashion.

Each Branch group holds several meetings per annum - where local issues are discussed and, more often than not, relevant ‘CPD’ presentations are held. The Members find these meetings most useful and the South West Regional Manager (Matthew McKaig) works closely with the Branch committees to ensure that these events are streamlined, value-adding - also providing some ‘community’ for Members spread over a wide geographical area. In addition there is an annual Regional Conference, which, last year (2018) was rounded off with a CPD event at the Dartmoor Lodge in Ashburton in November - so the South West Region is alive and kicking!

In addition to the considerable benefits also enjoyed by Members of ECA in the South West Region, they can also avail themselves of a generous training grant which is available to the Members based in this area.

- Matthew McKaig, West & South West Regional Manager
