This is a BS 7671 certificate, that can effectively be used for any new installation work, but has to be used when work involving one or more new circuits is undertaken. It should also be used when replacing an existing consumer unit or distribution board.

Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate (3 Circuits) with Member business logo

This is a BS 7671 certificate, that can only be used for installation work, that does not include the provision of a new circuit. It should be noted that the ECA certificate offers the convenience of being to record details of up to three such modified circuits.

Risk assessment methodology for the omission of RCDs

BS7671: 2008, AMD 3 2015 revised regulation 411.3.3 now requires all socket outlet circuits not exceeding 20A to incorporate additional protection by 30mA RCD, however an exception is permitted provided a documented risk assessment is produced, justifying why RCDs are to be omitted.
