Changes afoot with launch of AM2S
05 April 2018
AM2S, the End Point Assessment (EPA) for the electrotechnical apprenticeship standard, is now available through a number of NET centres. AM2S will now run in parallel with the existing AM2, which remains the assessment for the ‘apprenticeship framework’ and mature candidate assessment.
A key difference introduced by AM2S is the addition of a 1.5-hour composite installation section, and an assessment of behaviours. Other changes include a new booking system with an improved gateway check, a mandatory Readiness for Assessment checklist, and contracts between NET and training providers.
“It is critical that apprentices take the correct assessment moving forward,” says NET Chief Executive Carolyn Mason. “The current version of AM2 is not valid as the end point assessment for the new apprenticeship standard (the trailblazer standard).”
