First apprentice to qualify under electrotechnical trailblazer!
10 January 2018
Apprentice George Russell, who works for ECA member Clarkson Evans, has recently become the first electrician to pass the newly-introduced’ electrotechnical trailblazer’ apprenticeship standard.
The new apprenticeship standard has been introduced to help meet the needs of the modern industry.
Simon Kingwell, Production Director at Clarkson Evans said: “We are delighted that one of our apprentices is the first to qualify as an electrician under the new standard. George is already mentoring an apprentice and leading his own team.”
ECA’s Carolyn Mason, who is also Chief Executive of National Electrotechnical Training, which administers the end-point assessment for the standard said: “We were delighted to see George pass the new-style assessment and complete the new apprenticeship standard in the process. These are two ‘firsts’ for the industry and we look forward to rolling out the new assessment further in 2018.”
