London Branch Dinner Dance returns with great success
10 January 2018
The popular London Branch Dinner Dance returned in late 2017 at the Royal Lancaster, London. Some 300 members, guests and industry partners enjoyed dinner, followed by dancing to a live band.
Joining the guests and their partners was ECA President Mike Smith, EIC President Paul Loke, and ECA Vice President Jim Pridham, along with ECA Past Presidents Andy Basham, David Kieft, Paul McNaughton, Alun Pearson, Peter Hughes, Phil Fagg and Ian Crosby.
During the evening, Regional Manager Malcolm Conby received a presentation marking his 50 years in the industry.
London Branch Chairman Ian Crosby thanked the sponsors, including the event’s main sponsor Rexel, and all those who attended. Mr. Crosby commented: "we are delighted with the success of the ECA London Branch Dinner Dance, which has also raised £3,000 for the Electrical Industry Charity.”
During the evening, a special presentation was made to Greater London Regional Manager Malcolm Conby. ECA Fellow David Bartley, formerly MD of C J Bartley & Co, presented Malcolm with a bottle of champagne to celebrate his 50 years in the electrical industry. Malcolm started his career as an apprentice working for C J Bartley in July 1967, at the same time as David took over the running of the company.
