Changes to JIB Agreement for 2020
Increases will come into effect from Monday 6th January 2020 under the final stage of the current four-year JIB agreement with the union

The following increases will come into effect from Monday 6th January 2020 under the final stage of the current four-year JIB agreement with the union:
- Wage rates will increase by 3%. Details of the new rates are available here.
- Lodging Allowance will increase to £41.70per night; Retention payments to increase to a maximum of £13.72 per night; and Weekend Retention payment to increase to £41.70 per night. Lodging payments increases were linked to RPI and are now linked to CPI in accordance with HMRC requirements.
- Annual holidays entitlement will increase to 24 days (Statutory Holidays entitlement will remain at a maximum of eight days per year)
In addition, the JIB has agreed for a change in the date of the May day Bank Holiday for 2020 from Monday 4th May to Friday 8th May. This is in line with the Government’s announcement for a change in the bank holiday for 2020 to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day.
For the JIB Agreement this will mean that working on Monday 4th May will be treated as a normal day, whilst working on Friday 8th May will be treated as payment for working a Bank Holiday as set out.
