Government letter to industry: "construction remains open"
16 November 2020
The Secretary of State of the Department For Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Alok Sharma has written an open letter to the construction industry to reaffirm the current COVID-19 lockdown measures and what these mean for the sector.
In the letter, Sharma said that “the construction sector, which is a key part of our economy, remains open. Where it is essential to travel to your place of work to do your job, you should continue to do so.”
He added, “building merchants and hardware stores will be able to stay open to support this as normal or through click-and-collect services.”
