Structured Data Cabling - A Summary
Technological developments have already led to a greater convergence of the IT, telecommunications and electrical industries. Increasing demands for data intensive systems is also driving an increase of data centres and the data cabling within these.
Connected devices encompass numerous protocols including IP based Internet of Things (IoT) devices, non-inverted DC distribution, and Power over Ethernet (PoE). This has led to an array of applications being connected over structured copper and fibre cable systems.
It also reflects the need for a properly designed and installed structured cabling system which provides an end-to-end infrastructure that delivers predictable performance. These systems should have the flexibility to accommodate change, which will future proof their usability as technologies evolve.
