The Education & Skills team supports ECA Members by developing and delivering programmes that build technical competence, professional standards and long‑term capability across the workforce. The team works closely with industry partners, employers and learners to ensure education and skills provision reflects real sector needs.
Their work spans apprenticeships, qualifications and skills development pathways, supporting both new entrants and experienced professionals. By shaping content, maintaining standards and supporting delivery, the team helps ensure that industry education and skills remains relevant, robust and aligned with its expectations.

Keith Sanderson
Head of Education & Skills
About: As Head of Skills Delivery, Keith leads ECA’s skills agenda, taking action on behalf of Members to ensure their training and development needs are effectively supported.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience across Further Education and industry, supporting workforce development and skills progression for ECA members
- Leads ECA’s Growth Hub programme, driving funded training and upskilling opportunities for Members
- Actively involved in national and regional skills initiatives, including Electrotechnical Training and Careers Alliances (ETCAs) and industry‑facing skills activity

Carloyn Mason
Strategic Skills Advisor
About: Carolyn works closely with the Managing Director and Head of Skills Delivery to support and influence ECA’s involvement in wider industry and national skills activity.
Qualifications
- Key contributor to ECA’s skills strategy, working across apprenticeships, adult learning and workforce development
- Works closely with the Head of Education and Skills on national and regional skills activity, including external engagement and industry‑facing initiatives
- Experienced advisor in skills policy and provision, helping members navigate training routes, funding and skills progression

Catherine Watt
Employment and Skills Director
About: Catherine Watt is part of ECA’s Education & Skills team, supporting members with access to training, qualifications and skills development across the sector. She plays an important role in helping learning opportunities run smoothly and ensuring Members receive clear, accurate information about education and training initiatives.
Qualifications
- Principal ECA contact for the Joint Industry Board (JIB), involved in national wage negotiations and collective agreements for the electrical contracting industry
- Member of key JIB committees, including the Remuneration Committee, Employee Relations Committee and National Board
- Recognised employment‑law and employee‑relations specialist, delivering Member guidance, training and strategic advice across ECA regions
