eCOMS

Employee Competence Management

eCOMS is a free bespoke package for Members that supports you to meet the requirements of your certification scheme in a structured and simple manner.

A FREE web-based tool for ECA Members, helping you to meet your certification scheme requirements and stay compliant with your CPD obligations.

This Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS) requires businesses to provide documented evidence showing that all employed persons are undertaking Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This requires the enterprise to record and manage skills, qualifications, observations and general information about employed persons to ensure that they are adequately trained and supervised for the work they are undertaking. This documentation will be audited by the Certification body during a technical assessment.

Developed in-house by ECA, eCOMS is a bespoke, easy-to-use software tool designed to help Members to maintain accurate records of operative training and observations.

eCOMS allows users to record CPD and track operative training, helping your business stay compliant, demonstrate competence, and support workforce development with clear records and reminders.

Features of eCOMS include:

“The ECA eCOMS platform allows our business to record the training provided to our teams so we remain EAS 2020 compliant. But not only that, this platform is a great tool that allows our team to review experience and competence of our operatives to help with their career development, ensuring that the correct level of supervision is provided.”

Steve Rowland, Business Unit General Manager - Actemium

“We use eCOMS as it quickly and easily provides evidence of our electrical competence to our clients, auditors and Certification Body.”

- Managing Director - CTS Electrical Services

“eCOMS is the perfect tool for us to manage all our employee training records, meet our EAS obligations and record CPD hours all in one easy to navigate programme and of course it’s free to ECA Members. Win win!”

Richard Clayton, Managing Director - Spectrum Electrical Group

“Great to see the ECA ahead of the curve in producing a software tool to support Contractors in their obligations to be EAS compliant, we look forward to using this simple and very effective tool.”

Mark Lynock, Contracts Manager - West Midlands Electrical Installations Ltd

"Like many businesses, we previously maintained an ad hoc arrangement of paper based employee files, scans of certificates and spreadsheets. eCOMS allows us to consolidate all these records in one secure, but easily accessible system."

Andy Bonehill, Technical Director, PAIGroup

Recognised by NICEIC Assessors

“eCOMS assists businesses in holding many of the required items, including CPD records, all in one place.

This provides the assessor with a clear overview of the levels of operatives, the type of electrotechnical work being undertaken, highlighting the degree of risk and consequent risk factor and the degree of supervision required by the enterprise.

When evaluating eCOMS users, assessors can make an evidence-based assessment."

Daniel Smith, Head of Assessment, NICEIC
