Industry survey seeks to address injury concerns when working in ceiling voids

A new industry survey from ECA (Electrical Contractors’ Association) seeks to find causes and solutions to injuries sustained working in ceiling voids.

Installers and maintenance professionals have reported experiencing cuts to their hands and arms, often caused by sharp edges and points within ceiling spaces and we are seeking ways to reduce these hazards.

This survey is designed to drive improvements in trunking cabling design, with the goal of making installation and maintenance work in ceiling voids safer for everyone involved. ECA is seeking responses on the main health and safety risks encountered while carrying out this work, as well as suggestions for reducing these hazards. Complete the short survey here.

ECA Members working in Health & Safety can join the ECA Health & Safety Working Group. This group meets regularly throughout the year to discuss industry issues, concerns and share best practice. To find out more or to get involved, email healthandsafety@eca.co.uk.
