Valiant Radiator Fan recalled due to fire risk

The Office for Product Safety and Standards has issued an urgent recall of the Valiant Radiator Fan, sold through Amazon, eBay, Temu, B&Q, The Range and TikTok Shop, due to a fire hazard.

This product presents a risk of fire as the battery may fail during charging or while in normal use, leading to thermal runaway and the product catching fire. It does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

The manufacturer advises owners to stop using the product immediately and move it to an outdoor location. Owners should dispose of it safely via their local household waste disposal site. Consumers should check first with their local centre if they accept this type of battery.

ECA (Electrical Contractors’ Association) is alerting its Members and the wider industry to this product recall due to safety concerns. ECA Members can access support and guidance on a broad range of health and safety issues on the ECA website
