The Welsh Government is seeking views on plans to improve energy efficiency standards in new and existing homes and buildings in Wales.
The consultation outlines proposed changes to the Building Regulations, specifically relating to Part L (conservation of fuel and power), Part O (overheating) and Part F (ventilation) for dwellings and non-domestic buildings. These changes aim to reduce carbon emissions, building on the Government’s 2022 uplift to energy and ventilation standards and ensure new buildings are fit for the future to produce zero carbon emissions as the electricity grid decarbonises.
The Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) encourages its Members, particularly those operating in Wales, to have their say and share their views on the proposed changes.
ECA Members can contact the ECA Technical team for guidance on the proposed changes and support in drafting their responses.
The consultation closes on Monday 17 November 2025. Click here to read the consultation documents and submit your responses.
View ECA's Consultations & DPCs webpage to see all of the open consultations relevant to Members and have your say.
