Electrifying the Future: ECA Business Day

Celebrating 125 years of powering progress

ECA (Electrical Contractors’ Association) will host Electrifying the Future, a landmark Business Day as part of its 125th anniversary celebrations. The event will be held in an exclusive private space at the iconic Science Museum in London on Thursday 18 June 2026, 9:30am – 4:30pm. This is set to be an exclusive, fast-paced, insightful and not-to-be missed event for ECA Member business owners. Electrifying the Future will explore the opportunities rapidly reshaping the electrotechnical landscape and the vital role of electrical contracting businesses now and in the future.

Technology broadcaster and former presenter of The Gadget Show on 5, Georgie Barrat, will deliver the keynote address and answer audience questions about how to seize the opportunities in an increasingly electrified future.

Attendees will hear from industry experts including representatives from EuropeOn, SES (Engineering Services) Ltd and Kimbletech through a series of sessions exploring how AI, smart systems and the “electrification of everything” will transform the contracting sector. A quick-fire session will spotlight Member experiences, providing attendees with actionable ideas they can deploy in their business immediately.

The event presents a unique opportunity to learn from leading academics from Warwick University and Ashton University as they share what every contracting business must plan for now, from organisational redesign, and digital capability to leadership, culture and skills.

Alongside the speakers, delegates can explore an interactive exhibition featuring live demonstrations, interviews and future tech showcases from leading suppliers. They will also have the chance to network with peers, industry influencers, and VIP guests.

The event will conclude with a celebratory drinks reception to mark ECA’s proud legacy, followed by optional access to London’s world-famous Science Museum.

ECA’s 125th anniversary year celebrations are proudly sponsored by Edmundson Electrical, Aico and Schneider Electric.
