The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) is seeking feedback on its draft Electrician’s Guide to Domestic Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation.   

The guide is being developed to support the safe and effective installation of domestic electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment. It is intended for practising electricians who already have the relevant knowledge and training to understand and apply the guidance provided. 

As Electrical Contractors' Association (ECA) Members are required to demonstrate ongoing technical competence, your expertise and feedback on the draft guidance will be highly valued and can help shape the final publication. 

The draft for public comment (DPC) will close on Friday 14 August 2026.
