Building Safety Regulator webinar on managing competence

The Building Safety Regulator is holding its first webinar in new series on Managing Competence in the Built Environment, on Monday 23 March, 10.30am-12pm.

The session will closely align with the publication of both the Statutory Industry Competence Committee’s (ICC) Principles on Competence Management and the Industry Task & Finish Group’s guide on Managing Competence in the Built Environment.

Speakers include the ICC’s Jon Vanstone and Ali Perry, alongside industry experts Sofie Hooper and Shaun Lundy, with support from Dan Barrowcliffe from the Building Safety Regulator.

The webinar will cover:

  • Legal duties to manage competence within organisations involved in building design, construction and building management.
  • The principles that underpin effective competence management
  • Practical steps organisations can take through their policies, systems and procedures

The webinar will also be useful in providing a background to some of the challenges and future direction ECA Members will have to navigate.

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions during a live Q&A.
