Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) welcomes the Construction Leadership Council’s (CLC) refreshed Construct Zero targets, following publication of the Committee for Climate Change (CCC) 7th Carbon Budget and the CLC’s industry consultation.
The refreshed programme incorporates the CCC’s five decarbonisation pathways to zero carbon emissions:
- Electricity: Electrification of industry, transport, heating and energy generation
- Low Carbon Fuels and Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS): Hydrogen, Sustainable Aviation Fuel, ammonia and CCUS
- Nature: Woodland creation and peatland restoration
- Engineered Removals: CO2 transport and storage
- Demand: Efficiency, productivity and low-carbon choices.
ECA is a member of the CLC and the Construct Zero programme.
We encourage ECA Members to apply to become Construct Zero champions following in the footsteps of ECA Member firm RDM Electrical & Mechanical Services.
