Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) Members can now access the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS), its qualifications guide and supporting information in one place, following the launch of a new website, the-eas.co.uk.
The site provides a central source of information to help you understand the competence requirements relevant to your business, identify acceptable qualifications and keep up with changes to the specification. It also supports certification bodies, registration bodies and other industry stakeholders.
The EAS sets out the minimum technical, competence and safety requirements your business must meet to achieve and maintain recognition by a certification body or registration body as competent to undertake electrotechnical work. It also defines requirements for qualified supervisors, electrical inspectors and individuals carrying out specified categories of work.
As installations become more complex, understanding these requirements is increasingly important. The growth of solar photovoltaic systems, electrical energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging points (EVCPs) and other low-carbon technologies continues to broaden the range of work undertaken across the sector.
Visit the-eas.co.uk to access the EAS, check the qualifications guide and explore the supporting information.
