Updated supplier guide to help ECA Members engage with New Hospital Programme

The UK Government's major hospital infrastructure initiative, the New Hospital Programme (NHP), has published the latest version of its Supplier Guide to help businesses understand how the programme will be delivered and prepare for future opportunities.

The NHP aims to see new hospitals and major hospital redevelopments delivered across England over the coming decade, with projects planned or underway in regions including the North West, North East, Yorkshire and Humber, East Midlands, West Midlands, East of England, London, South East and South West. As schemes move through design, procurement and construction phases from now into the 2030s, significant opportunities are expected across the healthcare estate.

For electrical contractors and ECA Members, potential opportunities include power and distribution systems, lighting, fire and security systems, digital infrastructure, building controls, energy management, low-carbon technologies and maintenance services.

ECA Members are well placed to support the delivery of these projects. Hospital environments demand the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance, requiring specialist electrical and engineering expertise. Through their commitment to recognised industry standards, technical competence, training and regulatory compliance, ECA Members can ensure that critical healthcare infrastructure is delivered safely, efficiently and sustainably.

Members can download the latest guide here. The NHP team is also encouraging businesses to follow its industry bulletin and register for programme updates.

To help Members understand and access opportunities in this growing market, ECA will be running a focused healthcare sector forum later this year or early 2027. This follows similar events during 2026 covering data centres, water and waste treatment and residential sectors. The healthcare forum will offer Members an opportunity to network, share market intelligence, discuss key challenges and opportunities, and help shape ECA's support for the sector. Members interested in taking part should contact businesssupportdl@eca.co.uk.
