SMAS certificates withdrawn following UKAS accreditation suspension

Safety Management Advisory Services Ltd (SMAS), a member of Safety Scheme in Procurement (SSIP) form, has had its UKAS accreditation suspended. As a result, over 2,300 certificates issued by SMAS have been withdrawn.

ECA Members registered with SMAS should be aware of the potential implications for their business. Following the UKAS suspension and subsequent review, 2,362 UKAS-accredited certificates issued by SMAS between 29 June 2026 and 6 October 2026 have been withdrawn from the SSIP Portal.

The withdrawn certificates can no longer be relied upon for SSIP purposes. Members who have granted mutual recognition or completed a Deem to Satisfy (DTS) assessment based on a certificate issued during this period should review their status as soon as possible.

All withdrawn certificates will be reviewed, reassessed and verified before being reinstated on the SSIP Portal.

If you have questions about how this may affect your business, or require clarification regarding a withdrawn SMAS certificate, please contact the SSIP team at admin@ssip.org.uk.
