What is TrustMark?

TrustMark is a scheme supported by Government, the building industry and consumer groups to help householders find reliable and competent contractors to carry out improvements and repairs to their home.

TrustMark operates as a quality mark with a framework for approximately 30 Scheme Operators who work in the RMI (repair, maintenance and improvement) sector including: trade associations, local government trading standards teams, and independent Scheme Operators.

These schemes are approved to carry the TrustMark logo and recruit reputable and trustworthy tradesmen. This enables the TrustMark Scheme Operators to promote improved RMI sector standards, and tackle related issues such as better enforcement. All of these Scheme Operators are audited annually by TrustMark, to ensure processes, standards and complaint procedures are being maintained.

TrustMark demonstrates to your customers that can have confidence in your business because:

  • Your technical competence is assessed on a regular basis.
  • You’ve signed up to the ECA Code of Fair Trading that includes insurance cover, good health and safety practices and proper customer dealings.
  • You’re registered with a Government-approved Full Scope Competent Person Schemes for Part P of the Building Regulations (or relevant Part in relation to the type of work you carry out) which means you can provide a Building Regulations Compliance certificate.
  • Your  work is guaranteed by the ECA Guarantee of Work Scheme and can be covered by the ECA insurance backed Bond
