To help ECA support Members across South Wales, we’re excited to introduce Andy Bonehill as the region’s new eCOMS SuperUser.
eCOMS is a completely free, web-based tool to help ECA Members meet the training and supervision requirements of their certification schemes. Designed to simplify how you track operative training, maintain observation records, and meet Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS) requirements, eCOMS offers a clear and flexible way to stay compliant.
Meet Andy Bonehill
“I was born in England, but made in Wales,” Andy says. “I came here to go to university a long time ago… and never left!”
A proud supporter of Welsh rugby - “Red shirt, not white, when it comes to rugby” - Andy admits he gets “sooo much stick for this from family and colleagues over the water.”
Andy’s day job places him “where construction, technology, and creativity meet,” and that’s exactly where he thrives.
Outside the office
When he's off the clock, Andy enjoys travelling around the UK with his wife in their motorhome.
At home, they stay just as active. “We’re lucky to live somewhere with fantastic coastal and inland paths right on our doorstep, so we’ll often cycle locally – usually with a pub stop involved. If the weather’s good, we’re just as happy relaxing in the garden. I don’t need an excuse, but it’s a great time to check if the homebrew’s alright!”
Andy's also recently taken up motorbiking. “I had a second midlife crisis and got a bike. Passed my full test last year, and now I’ve got a Triumph Trident 660 – it’s an absolute joy to ride. My wife has a scooter too, so we like to get out and about together.”

“I’m really happy to help other Members,” he says. “eCOMS is such a useful tool when it comes to managing training records and meeting certification scheme requirements. I’ve used it, I believe in it, and I want to help others see the value in it too.”
