ECA (Electrical Contractors’ Association) Members based in North-East England can now access funded electrical upskilling courses from safety and compliance training provider RelyOn. ECA’s Technical team has worked closely with RelyOn to select appropriate course content.
ECA Members based in North-East England are able to claim up to £5,000 worth of courses on a range of topics, including inspection and testing; CompEX awareness; large-scale EV charging; high voltage and authorised persons.
Employers do need to contribute a proportion of training costs, but this contribution will be capped at 30% for larger businesses and 10% for SMEs. The rest is paid for by funding provided by the North-East Combined Authority (NECA). In order to qualify for this funding, employees or their employer must have a postcode in the NECA areas of County Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, North Tyneside, Northumberland, South Tyneside and Sunderland.
For more information about eligibility for NECA funding and to sign up to one or more courses, visit Relyon’s website.
ECA is currently in discussions with NECA about establishing an Electrotechnical Training and Careers Alliance (ETCA) to help improve electrical skills outcomes in the region. This will be similar to successful ETCAs which ECA has already established in Greater Manchester, West Midlands and Cheshire & Warrington.
