Jane Dawson, Head of External Affairs at ECA (Electrical Contractors’ Association) has been named on the Women in Trade Associations Powerlist 2026, which celebrates inspirational women shaping the future of trade bodies across the UK.
Released ahead of International Women’s Day 2026 (Sunday 8 March), the Powerlist recognises women demonstrating outstanding leadership, influence and impact within trade associations and the sectors they represent.
Jane joined ECA in December 2020 and is responsible for ECA’s external affairs strategies and operation. Her role spans policy, communications and stakeholder engagement, including producing content for ECA’s channels, contributing to media coverage and working collaboratively with industry partners on a wide range of communications initiatives.
With over a decade of experience in charity communications and public affairs, Jane also brings international experience promoting renewable energy initiatives.
During her time at ECA Jane has worked on a number of high‑profile and impactful projects, including the recent Electrical Skills Index, Charters to Recharge Electrical Skills in England and Wales, the Blueprint for Electrification: Delivering the UK’s Transition to Clean Power report and Electrifying our Future campaign. She represents ECA and its Members regularly in Parliament, engaging with politicians and other key decision‑makers on critical issues facing the electrical contracting industry.
