Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) Members can now access a specialist construction insurance scheme offered by Tysers. Members who request a quote will also be entered automatically into a prize draw to win £2,000 to spend on ECA Growth Hub courses.

The scheme is intended to help Members arrange cover for their workforce, projects and operations, with several types of insurance available.

Insurance cover available

• Employers’ liability insurance — mandatory if you employ staff or subcontractors.
• Public liability insurance — required for most jobs.
• Professional liability insurance — essential if your work includes design.

Additional options include contractors’ all risks cover for materials, plant and equipment against loss or damage while work is under way. There is also cover available for fleet, property damage and legal costs.

About the scheme

The scheme is offered by Tysers, an insurance broker with more than 200 years’ experience, and underwritten by Markel, an established insurer that has a close relationship with ECA. The scheme is available exclusively to ECA Members.

Tysers can also discuss quote requests from Members with a complex claims history or highly specific insurance requirements and identify available options.
