ECA Member, Skanska UK, are one of the latest companies to join the team of 80 strong CO2nstruct Zero Business Champions.

The Construction Leadership Council’s CO2nstruct Zero campaign brings together businesses from across the sector to deliver the change needed to reduce carbon use in construction. It includes a roadmap for change and clear measures to show how industry is performing against this. The Champions each set out how they are driving down carbon in their business, and work to share this good practice with industry.

One of ECA’s priorities is supporting Members as the sector makes the transition to net zero carbon.  It represents Members at government and industry bodies, such as the CLC, to influence energy-related initiatives and policies.

Steve Bratt, ECA’s CEO, said

We are delighted Skanska UK joins the three other ECA Members supporting the CLC’s Construct Zero campaign. Clean electricity has the advantage of being a more secure, stable and cheaper energy source than other fuels. It is vital we do all we can to help the wider industry reduce carbon emissions”.

Sharon Maynard Head of Environment at Skanska UK commented:

"As a business that has been measuring our carbon impact for over a decade, we are happy to be able to support Construct Zero as a Business Champion. We believe it is important for businesses to measure and share successes and challenges to support a combined industry goal of low carbon construction and that's why our CEO Greg Craig serves on the ConstructZero Advisory Board'.
